As we wrap up the first quarter of 2024, it’s crucial that we reflect on the milestones achieved, challenges overcome, and lessons learned. Let’s take a look at some of the key takeaways from Q1.

The Event Industry’s Net Zero Roadmap

We’re proud to announce we have joined the  Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge. While individual companies (like us) can take specific actions to minimise their carbon impact, to drive meaningful progress, an industry wide approach is also needed. That’s why we’ve registered to participate in the Net Zero Carbon Events initiative, joining more than 650 organisations from 60 countries that are also taking part. It’s the most international, inclusive collaboration on sustainability our industry has seen to date.

Since the initiative was launched in late 2021, it has been a collaborative effort with stakeholders, including the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change), to develop the Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge, of which we are now part of.

Awards Success

It has been a winning start to the year, with a cluster of award wins under our belts already. So far, we’ve won the Platinum Agency Sustainability Initiative in the TMC category at the Greengage Awards. We picked up an impressive two awards here, with Ellen Mutimer, bagging the gold Rising Star Award. Ellen also took home the prestigious Chris Peacock Young Champion of Change Award at beam’s gala dinner in February. Plus, Inntel’s Dana Mills was listed in the Conference News 30underThirty class of 2023, which was announced earlier this year. Congratulations all round!

Championing Inclusion

Two movements that mean a lot to us at Inntel include International Women’s Day (IWD) and Neurodiversity Celebration Week so we were only too happy to share our support on social media and our website back in March. Did you catch the video of what some of our team members had to say about IWD over on LinkedIn? We also encouraged our employees to complete a quiz.

Inntel’s very own Tiffany Casson is well known in our industry for championing neurodiversity. As a voluntary Ambassador for Neurodiversity in Business, she tirelessly raises awareness of the many benefits a neurodiverse workforce offers, as well as ways that we can all help to make the corporate world a place where every mind can thrive. We couldn’t be prouder of the campaigning she does, which is why we shone a spotlight on her during Neurodiversity Celebration Week.

Business at its Best

We’re happy to announce that Inntel has joined the Better Business Act, becoming part of a coalition for a cleaner, greener, fairer future for all. It should no longer be a choice for businesses to align the long-term interests of people, the planet and profit. The act aims to change the law so that every single company in the UK takes ownership of its social and environmental impact.
