Planning a business trip to Scotland? Two major cities are introducing visitor levies on overnight accommodation. Edinburgh’s 5% levy comes into effect from 24th July 2026, followed by Glasgow’s from 25th January 2027. The charges will apply to a range of paid accommodation, including hotels, serviced apartments and self-catering properties, so organisations should factor these additional costs into future travel budgets.
Cambridge South station is now open, improving rail access to the city’s Biomedical Campus, including NHS hospitals, research centres and business locations. The station will be served by up to 20 trains an hour during peak times.
Qantas has confirmed its non-stop London–Sydney service will begin in October 2027, with bookings opening in February 2027. The new route is expected to cut travel times by up to four hours compared with current one-stop services.
