What we're looking for

We're launching a brand-new Apprentice Business Travel Consultant role, giving someone their first step into the Business Travel industry while they train towards a nationally recognised Level 3 Travel Consultant qualification. You'll spend your first months learning the ropes on the administrative side, answering calls, logging bookings and supporting our Consultants, before building up to managing bookings, amendments and cancellations yourself.

No previous industry experience required, just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Answer and manage incoming calls, providing an excellent first point of contact for clients and suppliers
• Log all incoming accommodation, travel requirements, and provide information on turnaround times
• Monitor incoming email inboxes, loading new enquiries/amendments and responding to and forwarding emails as required
• Support the processing of VCC (virtual credit card) payments for bookings
• Learn to manage and complete bookings, amendments and cancellations – including accommodation, low-cost airline, rail, taxi, car hire and ancillary services bookings, within agreed SLAs, with support from your mentor.
• Escalate urgent enquiries to the appropriate Consultant or Team Leader.
• Begin to build supplier and venue knowledge, attending site visits and familiarisation trips as your confidence grows.
• Start to make personal recommendations to clients on the most suitable supplier for their booking, and why.
• Complete all coursework, workplace assessments and off-the-job training hours required to achieve your Level 3 qualification.
• Any other office support tasks as required.

Your apprenticeship

• This role delivers the Level 3 Travel Consultant standard. You'll be supported throughout by a workplace mentor and an external training provider, with protected time built into your week for structured learning.

Must haves

• GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4 or above in English Language and Maths.
• A genuine interest in travel & customer service.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)

Nice to have

• Any previous experience of customer service, admin or reception work (not essential!

Hours of work

• 40 hours a week,
• Monday–Friday.
