Verety (Vez) Bond, Inntel’s Specialist Business Travel Team Leader, shares her experiences at Focus Travel Partnership‘s 20th conference, held in July at Hilton at St George’s Park, Midlands Conference Venue…
“On arrival, it was great to see many familiar faces from last year. Our first night was a relaxed networking evening BBQ sponsored by Emirates and Qantas, complete with a fun DJ quiz. The conference opened with headline sponsor Qatar Airways and host Paul Spencer, followed by a moving talk from Yasmina Magdy about her journey with Depaul UK, Focus’s charity partner.
The afternoon included supplier showcases and team-building sponsored by AeroMexico. We built and demolished piñatas, then worked together to create a ‘Mexican railway’ to transport footballs across the hall – it was a great laugh. The evening fun continued with quick five-a-side games and then A Question of Sport themed dinner.
Day two began with ‘netwalking’ hosted by Delta and Virgin Atlantic, with great views of the venue’s famous football grounds. Then we had the pleasure of listening to MD of Manchester City Women’s team, Charlotte O’Neil’s Q&A with the Focus Chair Adrian Parkes. Finally, there was an inspiring keynote from Karen Carney, OBE, who shared the story of her magnificent career journey. My biggest takeaway from her was how just two words – well done – can inspire someone to achieve great things.”
Our Meetings & Events team was recently hosted at the spectacular London Cabaret Club by The Bloomsbury Ballroom– a true showcase of how to pair a stunning venue with world-class entertainment. This Grade II listed Art Deco space offers 3,500 sq ft for cocktail receptions, awards ceremonies, conferences and Christmas parties. With capacity for up to 550 guests, an in-built stage and state-of-the-art AV and lighting, it blends classic elegance with modern flair. All topped off by dazzling cabaret. The venue is also home to the only Le Petit Chef in London – an immersive dining experience where a tiny, 3D animated chef ‘cooks’ on your plate.
Read why Ellen Mutimer, our ESG Executive, was wowed by the sustainable outdoor dining experience at this beautiful Essex venue’s kitchen garden. In this blog, she reflects on the conference and discusses the magic ingredient to truly memorable events. Check it out at the link below.
