On Friday 27th September, Inntel employees celebrated the company’s birthday with an agenda full of energy and fun. The day started with Song Division opening the conference and getting Inntel’s own guitar hero, Jake Murrells to choose 4 chords to use for an Inntel anthem which would be written by the staff. Douglas O’Neill, CEO of Inntel then did a guess the year style presentation to show the history of the company and pay tribute to some of the milestones of the last 35 years.

The new style conference also had a Q&A session where staff could ask burning questions to the management team and an update from each of the senior leadership team on where the company is heading for the future.

The evening segment of the conference was all about celebrating inspirational Inntel staff who reflect the values of the company – Fixers, Entrepreneurs, Perfectionists, Experts and the Name you can Trust as well as departmental awards – all voted for by the company’s employees. The awards ceremony culminated in the Outstanding Employee of the Year. This award goes to the person who has represented all the Inntel values in everything they do.

“We have accomplished a lot in our first 35 years and today enjoy working with some great clients, colleagues and suppliers. I’m proud that Inntel remains a truly independent organisation, based on sound ethics and continued investment in market leading technology and the very best people. I’d like to thank everyone that has helped Inntel have a remarkable 35 years.

And, whilst it’s good to look back on past successes, I am most excited about what the next 35 years looks like for Inntel. 2020 will see the end of our 3 year strategy programme, with achievement of all our plans and objectives for business growth, sustainability, innovation, people development and client retention. I’m proud that our brand new online booking tool, LOGiC has been a resounding success with its’ early adopters and looking forward to seeing our expansion into new markets with our alternative accommodation and travel services offering for the transport, insurance and housing sectors.

The meetings, events and business travel sector continues to evolve and Inntel will continue to innovate. We are ready for these changes and look forward to continuing our journey.”
