We were awarded the environmental management standard ISO 14001 in 2009 and try and fit green policies into our everyday activities.

For example, we have worked with Essex County Council to give employees the information they need to find the most environmentally friendly route to work, we operate a car-share scheme and we are hot on recycling.

We do a lot in the community, too, from small initiatives such as collecting Supermarket Equipment for Schools vouchers for local primary schools to more active schemes such as giving staff time off to help maintain the green spaces at a local hospital and children’s hospice. We also do a significant amount of fundraising throughout the year for the charity chosen by our Employee of the Year, with past beneficiaries including MacMillan Nurses, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Homes for Heroes and Make a Wish.  Our charity for 2016/17 is the Children’s Burns Club at Broomfield hospital in Chelmsford, Essex.
