Have you ever wondered what would happen if something unexpected occurred at Inntel House that meant we couldn’t function from there? Our clients rely on us, so, naturally, we have continuity procedures in place to ensure that any emergency that might impact on Inntel does not affect our clients or their travellers and delegates.
In fact, we have an industry expert on our team - Sue Burgess, our Operations Director, has been recognised for her work on continuity procedures in the C & IT Magazine's Power People 50 awards.
We take disaster recovery very seriously, and, to make sure that we are always able to operate seamlessly, we test our emergency procedures on a regular basis, as we did very recently.
At 09.06 on Friday, June 21st, an emergency situation was alerted at Inntel House. The reservations staff were immediately relocated to the Marks Tey Hotel, a venue five minutes away. Inntel’s Business Continuity IT team members quickly convened at the Phoenix Business Continuity site in nearby Romford to start immediate work in getting the reservations systems fully operable.
Full operations were established within an hour and a half; with Inntel’s reservations consultants carrying out business as usual from the emergency back up site.
Throughout it all, we are delighted to confirm that our clients reported no disruption or negative impact to business.
Douglas O'Neill, Inntel’s Managing Director, said “It is really pleasing to note that a full-scale exercise worked smoothly and Inntel is so well equipped to cope with an emergency situation.”
