Inntel’s newly appointed Employee of the Year, Lauren Kidger, has chosen the Colchester Hospital Children’s Special Care Unit as Inntel’s Charity of the Year 2017/18.

Lauren received the award at Inntel’s summer party last month at the Inntel annual awards ceremony.

The chosen charity, based at Colchester General Hospital, will take over from the Children’s Burns Club selected by last year’s Outstanding Employee, Naomi Angus, a local organisation helping children and young people whose lives have been affected by burns traumas and altered body image. Over the past 12 months, we have successfully raised over £2,500 for the organisation through bake sales, quizzes and seasonal activities organised by the Inntel Staff Committee.

Douglas O’Neill, CEO at Inntel, said:

‘Our corporate Charity of the Year scheme is an important part of the culture here at Inntel, not just because of the CSR it demonstrates, but also the emotive regard in which employees hold the scheme. The charities chosen by our Outstanding Employees often have a very personal sentiment to them so it is incredibly rewarding for individuals to see that through their own career achievements they can, in turn, give back to the organisations that have changed their lives at some point, or the lives of those very close to them.’
